Townsville has one of Australia’s best playing grounds at Riverway Stadium, and an upgrade to broadcast-standard lighting will attract regular elite national Cricket and AFL games to the city. This would boost participation in club-level sport, allow the stadium to host national and international competitions, and deliver large economic visitation benefits to Townsville.
