In my next sitting in Parliament, I will move a motion to call for criminalising the burning and/or desecration of the Australian National Flag.
The abhorrent behaviour of protestors burning the Australian National Flag at rallies throughout our country is deplorable and disrespectful.
It goes against our values as a nation. The Australian Flag is the flag our Australian Defence Force wears on their shoulders and the flag that sits on the coffin of our fallen. It is an insult to every single Australian every time one of these thugs puts a torch to our national flag without consequence.
