Save Our Reef HQ

Townsville’s Reef HQ is in danger of being shut down for good.

Together with the community, I fought for its future, securing $80M for its refurbishment from the former Coalition Government.

Last year the Albanese Labor Government re-scoped the project into a full knock-down rebuild, without allocating any extra funding. The latest Budget confirms no extra money.

It means the largest coral reef aquarium in the world will remain closed for the foreseeable future – a tourism and education asset that used to attract 110,000 visitors every year.

The Albanese Government must urgently review its decision to de-fund Reef HQ and reverse its short-sighted call as a priority. Local families are disgusted at the arrogance and lack of care from Labor.

Please sign my petition to save our Reef HQ, so I can demonstrate our community’s support in the Federal Parliament.
